Chicken Wrap

Introduction

Are you looking for a yummy wrap to make at home? Look no further! This chicken wrap is the perfect lunch or dinner option. And it’s also super easy to prepare. Here’s what you’ll need:

Chicken Wrap

  • 2 shredded cooked chicken
  • 1/2 cup green onions
  • 1 can crushed pineapple
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 whole wheat tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded romaine lettuce

2 cups shredded cooked chicken (about 10 ounces)

Shred the chicken. Place the cooked chicken in a large bowl and use two forks to shred it into bite-size pieces.

Measure 2 cups of shredded chicken (about 10 ounces). Transfer to a large bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until ready to assemble wraps (up to 2 days).

1/2 cup green onions, chopped

Green onions are milder than other types of onions, so they’re the perfect choice for people who don’t like super-pungent flavors. In fact, their flavor is quite sweet and mild—but don’t let that fool you! They can still pack a punch when it comes to adding flavor to your food. These green garlics aren’t just great in salad dressings and stir fries; they also make a delicious soup garnish.

1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained, reserve juice

1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained, reserve juice

1/4 cup mayonnaise

3 tablespoons sour cream

1/3 cup mayonnaise

  • In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise with 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/4 tsp onion powder.
  • Place 1 Romaine lettuce leaf on each of 4 bread slices.
  • Place 1–2 chicken strips on top of each lettuce leaf.
  • Spread a generous amount of the mayonnaise mixture over the chicken strips; sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste (optional). Top each sandwich with 1 slice of cheese and one tomato slice if desired; close sandwiches by placing other bread slices on top. Cut sandwiches in half and serve immediately for best results!

4 whole wheat tortillas (10-inch)

  • Take the tortillas, stack them together and cut in half so that you have two circles about 8 inches in diameter.
  • Spread the hummus on both circles of dough (either spread on one side and tuck under the other or spread on one side and then flip).
  • Place chicken strips across the center of each circle, leaving ample room at both ends because they will get folded over toward those edges (you can also do this with a regular wrap sandwich by placing all ingredients inside a pita pocket)

2 cups shredded romaine lettuce

Romaine lettuce is an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin K, folate and fiber. It also provides a good amount of potassium and copper. Romaine lettuce has a low calorie count at only 14 calories per cup, which makes it great for those on diets or watching their weight.

However, romaine lettuce does not have any saturated fats or cholesterol like other types of lettuce do. Because it’s mostly water with some vitamins thrown in there as well as some fiber and protein (0 g), the main benefit is that it fills you up without filling you out!

Conclusion

It’s easy to get caught up in the chicken wrap ingredients list. But remember: you don’t have to make everything from scratch. A store-bought rotisserie chicken or deli meat can save you time and money—and still taste great.
